How to Cite Web Sources in Turabian Style

In our citation examples, we use the following color coding:

  • Red – Author
  • Blue – Title of book/article/charter/webpage
  • Pink – Date
  • Orange – Website/Publisher
  • Green – Title of journal
  • Gray – URL/database/website where the source is retrieved
  • Peach – Additional information about the source (i.e. its type, specific features etc.)

Add “n.d.” instead of the year to indicate that the date of publication is unknown.

Example:

Layton, Jill. n.d. “Storage Containers That Make Use of Your Under-Bed Space.”

Blog

Add “(blog)” after the blog title written in italics (the format is similar to periodicals).

Example:
